XMAS: Some Video Offerings for Lord Kringus

Just some Christmas videos to share as we head into the Christmas weekend...

First, a performance of Oscar Wilde's fairy tale "The Happy Prince." This is narrated by Orson Welles, and features Bing Crosby as the Prince and Lurene Tuttle as the Swallow. This was on the Philco Radio Hall of Fame program on December 24, 1944. It runs just over 12 minutes and is a poignant listen for Christmastime.

Chewbacca's "Silent Night" rendition is okay by me. The Han Solo reaction shots really make this.

The pendulum has swung on Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime," it seems. Here's one of those a cappella videos from The Tonight Show, this one featuring the cast of Sing, a movie that looks kind of terrible, but the vid is cute and even Sir Paul himself makes an appearance. (Also, the song and I have buried the hatchet. As cool as it's been for the last decade to complain about how you hate something mediocre-yet-harmless, it's never been as wretchedly awful as Elton John's "Step Into Christmas.")

I'm feeling this SNL video about the last Christmas with Obama as President. It's even funnier because there are so many crybabies in the comments section on this one who genuinely believe the rhetoric and are so upset about how mean everyone's being to their pathetic leader. (Oh, yeah, and fuck putting politics aside because it's the holiday season.)

And lastly, one of those Carpool Karaoke videos that people seem to love. I'm not a fan, but this one made me feel kind of nice. Of course, it's the best Christmas song of our time, so what they hey.

Protect us in the night, Lord Kringus, and enjoy what could possibly be the last Christmas. I'm not convinced Trumpmerica is going to get all of us to the next one alive...
