Back to the Future Day? Why Not

Couple of little things that have been bouncing around to celebrate today, October 21, 2015, the day Marty McFly went to the future.

First, Universal's "official" Jaws 19 trailer.

I absolutely love the Pepsi Perfect commercial, because I'm one of those pop culture guys who loves Pepsi and old Pepsi commercials. Reminds me of being a kid. Dig that Pepsi-loving robot!

Love it. I dig that beautiful bottle. They're selling limited edition bottles with real Pepsi, and I'd love to have one, but they cost $20.15, which is a lot when you're paying your rent late every month for the last, like, 28 months. To paraphrase Hank Hill, the only way I'm paying twenty dollars for a soda is if it's an everlasting soda.

Back to the Future in ACTUAL 2015. Hey, at least we can stream TV. Look, no one wants a flying car, alright? The first time some drunk teenager plows into your third-floor bedroom at 4 in the morning, you're going to wonder what kind of maniac society would actually want a car that can fly.

And a hopeful note that kind of gets me right here.

Thanks, Doc.

I saw all three films in a row at the movies last week, and they included the Jaws 19 trailer and the message from Doc, as well as a hoverboard commercial; but not the Pepsi Perfect one.
