"The President Wants a Blank Check"

No, Mr. Boehner, the President wants the government to pay its bills.

A debt default is probably unconstitutional. Holding it hostage to get tax cuts that will further destroy the economy is also probably unconstitutional.

Our government is too infantile to function.

Boehner, Cantor, McConnell... you people just want to watch the world burn to prove a point.

I really hope you're the first ones into the fire.

You never answer anything I comment about but I will ask this anyways. Have you see the part of 'Backdraft' where DeNiro is at the parol hearing of Donald Sutherland's serial arsonist. It's kinda like Obama and Boener. Just want to watch it burn is such an apt description - for a totall made up crisis.

Yeah, that's a good comparison. I don't understand at all what the right thinks they're going to gain by digging in on this--it sure as hell can't be voters. Pissing off the seniors by cutting their Medicare and Social Security?

When is the revolution, again?

Boehner just has a blank mind.

"Some people just want to watch the world burn." Alfred the Butler to Batman in THE DARK KNIGHT.

We have the Joker running the House Majority, only he's switched his face color from clown white to spray-tan orange, and instead of laughing, he weeps crocodile tears.

From our perspective, out here in the other 95% of the planet, it won't be the world burning: just a small section of scorched earth policy stretching north of Mexico all the way up to the 49th Parallel. Maybe Boner and the Teatards are having a collective Tyler Durden fantasy of starting all over again?
But I think, in reality, once the old-school Republicans get what they want (Obama out and control of the Senate/Reps) the Teatards will be first up against the wall - they're just too thick to realise they're curled up in a nest of sleeping vipers...
Good Luck!

They're not going to get that they want. They're enraging voters. The Repubs are shooting themselves in the foot.

And if you think a Teabagger president isn't capable of burning the entire world, take another look at what Bush did to the world. Gobal economic depression. Who knows who they're invade next, while they continue to increase global warming? The whole world is connected, and if America burns, so will the rest.

If defaulting on our debt is what it will take to get the Republicans out of power for a generation then I'm willing to take the risk. I've had it. Though it isn't exactly heartening to see Republican followers up in the past few years despite everything. So frustrating... But if defaulting will finally cause the poor in this country who are currently so devoted to a party that has nothing in it for them to revolt, then again, I'm willing to risk the consequences.
