Film Week

A review of the one film I managed to see this week.

STANDING STILL (2005)
Privileged, self-obsessed white people have privileged, self-obsessed white people problems. Whiny and forgettable, and I only really saw it because I fell asleep watching something else (this was the day after my all-night Call of Duty experience) and when I woke up I saw Amy Adams' name in the opening credits. I think I have to stop giving that any weight. (Especially after Julie and Julia, ugh.) * star.

Hey SF, have you seen Wrangler: Portrait of an Icon? I think that's the title anyway.

No, I've never heard of it. What is it?

You'd like it I think. It's about Jack Wrangler, the gay porn star who did straight stuff later on. Anyway, he was an interesting guy and it was an oddly sweet film considering most porn stories are about miserable people. Netflix had it streaming.

Oh, yeah, I remember hearing a while back that there was a documentary about Jack Wrangler. I'd forgotten about that. Thanks for the heads up, I'll look for this one.
