Brief TV Report on Parenthood

Parenthood plays like someone took Modern Family and pumped it full of hot air.

I actually hated 'Parenthood' It was so ernest and precious that I thought I was going to barf. The promos showed this off like it was Modern Family Part Deux and maybe that is what ruined it for me. I have seen this show a million times before and these days I am not in the mood to cut NBC one ounce of slack. All the characters are so 'written' if that makes any sense and there were several actresses who I would hire other women to beat up just because they had those smirky faces. A total waste of time and I LOVE Lauren Graham.

I was looking forward to Craig T. Nelson, too. I know what you mean about the characters being so "written." They're not talking, they're spouting scripted pages. It so desperately wants to be an important show about parenting, but it's completely inorganic. They aren't people, they're symbols.
