This is really starting to bug me.
For some reason, Disney has been repeating this story that Anika Noni Rose is the first woman to play a Disney princess and do both the speaking and singing voice of the character.
Which is a nice story, I guess, except that it's not true.
She's actually the sixth. Adriana Caselotti as Snow White, Ilene Woods as Cinderella, Mary Costa as Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Jodi Benson as Ariel, and Paige O'Hara as Belle all did their own singing when they played Disney princesses. So I don't understand why they're pushing this story as part of the publicity for The Princess and the Frog.
I understand that Disney has a lot riding on this film, but do they really need to take away from their past accomplishments to make this one look groundbreaking? I find that really sad.

Sad really, just remember, us marketing people are evil :D
Cheers!
You can also count Amy Adams as both the animated, singing AND live action voice of Gisele. Boom seven.
Good point!
