"It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City - David Bowie"
As in the "It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City" that was on Bruce Springsteen's record, covered? I don't think I've ever heard that one!
Love "If You Could Read My Mind" and a bunch of other Gordon Lightfoot, including "Carefree Highway."
Yeah, it's one of two Springsteen covers that Bowie did that were never released until the late eighties. He recorded a glam-ish cover of "Growin' Up" and a really sweeping cover of "It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City" which I think really outclasses the original some time in the mid-seventies. They both ended up as bonus tracks when RykoDisc re-released all of his albums in 1989.
