85 Years of Bettie Page

Bettie Page made a huge difference in my life when I was 12, and she's continued to ever since. I won't go into detail, but I will say that my first, um, physical experience for a woman was because of Bettie. Today she turns 85. Happy Birthday, Ms. Page. You've made me happy for a long, long time and I'm sure you always will.

Yes, Bettie Page was cool. But I did not know about her when I was a teenager.

Apparently your teenage years were far more interesting than mine. :-)

It was totally random, too. A friend of mine had a movie magazine with a ton of ads for all of this Bettie Page merchandise. I was immediately struck by her; then there was one of those cosmic meetings where my home suddenly got the Playboy Channel for free for a couple of days, before it was pay-per-view, and they had a short special about her. From then on, I was hers.

Well, that's a damn sight better than National Geographic.

That's all I'm sayin' about that...
