Why do I keep starting over again?
Well, since last week I feel a lot better. I had to go through the lowest lows this weekend to get there, though. Seriously, a break down, sobbing for no reason, it really sucked. Something just came unbalanced over the weekend. And now, as always, picking myself back up.
The good news is that I've been able to keep to my guns and I haven't had soda in a week. I'm just at the tail end of having no energy because the sugar and caffeine is no longer in my diet. That's okay, the last time I gave it up for a significant time period, I got my energy back from exercise and eating better. Man, I was feeling so good at the start of the year. I've got to get back to that point. And I'm going to.
Not much else to report this week. The resolve is a big triumph in itself, though. Still no job, but things might be looking good.
Hmm, boring entry this week.

Diet soda, diet soda, diet soda. I always detested the stuff, but when I realized that drinking soda and losing weight weren't going to go together, and that I found water just too depressing to think about, I gave it a go. First day: Hated it. Second day: Hated it. Third day: Palate adjusted.
Good job my man. I'm no paragon of health myslef and your sturggle is inspiring to me in my efforts to get back to a better place health wise. Way to go.
Samurai -
I gave up soda a while ago, and I am decaffeinating this summer, and it is rough, man. Really rough.
Hang in there -- these things are chemicals, they do have an impact on us.
Regards,
Tengrain
PS - I love what you are doing with the monkeys. If I ever run for office, I demand your services!
Tosy: Thanks for the advice, but I think I'm just going to stick with the water. I really hate the taste of diet soda, and I'd rather just give it up altogether than have the watered-down stuff. I did the same with coffee--I put in way too much sugar and cream, and I didn't like it with a lot less, so I just stopped drinking it.
The funny thing is, I've always drank water more than anything else.
Dr. Monkey: Thanks, man. I'm trying hard this time. No more whining about it.
Tengrain: Thanks. I've given up soda for long periods of time in the past; the key is to make it last this time. I think I'm over the hump because I'm not craving it right now. My problem was always overdosing on caffeine rather than withdrawing.
And thanks for the monkey love! I'm having a blast!
Yay! That sounds great, like you are going in the right direction. When I first read the post, I thought you said "keep my guns" not "keep to my guns". I thought, "Wait, wait, they are going to take away his guns? I didn't even know he had guns! I thought he had Muppet toys!"
And I am not a monkey. I am an orangutan. ;o)
Yes, you are. Sorry about that, sir.
